Recombinant inbred lines were developed by the single seed descent method from an F2 population of a cross between Misuzudaizu and Moshidou Gong 503 in Chiba University. Misuzudaizu (Norin 51) was released at 1968 from Nagano Prefectural Agricultural Experimental Station. It possesses a determinate habit, tawny pubescence, white flower, and large and yellow seed. Moshidou Gong 503 was developed as a forage crop in Jillin Agricultural Experimental Station, China, and possesses a semideterminate habit, tawny pubescence, purple flower, small and brownish compressed seed.
A total of 350 markers have been mapped in the RIL population, and QTL analyses for agronomical traits have been carried out.
